Who We Are & What We Do

About Us
SASA UMD is a student organization at the University of Maryland, College Park that represents and champions the voices of South Asian students on campus. SASA aims to act as an intercultural connector for South Asian organizations at UMD and addresses the complexities of intersectional identities. The organization was founded in January 2020 by two UMD students who were unable to find the South Asian community they were looking for, so they decided to create their own! Since then, SASA has grown from a team of two to an organization with over 200 general body members.
